3 Features of VoIP Phones that Boost Productivity

Providing employees with VoIP phones can help them become more productive in their daily tasks. Unlike traditional landline phones, VoIP phones provide several options and features for users. Here are some of the most important ones:

Direct calls to mobile devices

Many businesses now have a few mobile employees on their payroll. While these employees spend some time in their office, they’re often out on the road meeting with clients and partners. These employees won’t get much use out of their office phone, but they still need a business phone number. VoIP phones allow users to direct calls to different devices depending on their availability. This changes the game in the world of business. You no longer have to be at your desk in order to receive a call. Honestly, you don’t have to have a desk at all.

A recent Huffington Post article explains how this feature works:

“Many VoIP services allow you to get very specific about where and when you want your calls to go. You can set calls to go to multiple phones, or to go straight to voicemail without your phone ringing once. So, if you are unsure of where you are going to be during the day, you can make certain the call will still reach you.”

Voicemail to email

Many VoIP users do not know this feature exist. This can be incredibly handy for those who are on the go or maybe just so busy throughout the day that they forget to check their voicemail. It’s important to keep up with your client calls, especially when they leave an important message.

This is another reason VoIP is so helpful. Rather than forcing employees to check their voicemail every hour, they can just set up voicemail to email with a VoIP phone. This feature takes every voicemail and converts them into an email. It is quick and easy to check from anywhere with any device. This way, employees will receive all their messages in their email inbox.

Virtual receptionist

VoIP phones can help improve a company’s organization. If you have several departments that customers could potentially ask for, then you should set up a virtual receptionist. The automated menu will direct callers to the relevant department.

    Hi,

    Great posts!

I didn’t know that voicemail to email feature of VoIP until I’ve read this article. That feature might be really useful, since employees are too busy on their work.

In our company we use VoIP Phones for communication of our employees and customers, VoIP really increases productivity and efficiency. If we have a message to be relayed and should be received immediately, we just dial up the designated for a one employee or more and make the call. It’s really time-saving.

Thank you for posting this article. 🙂

    Best regards,
